Defend Your Farm With Strategic Slingshot Action!

Inspiration

Week 1

This week was spent doing play testing, I made a mock-up of Slingshot Squires and observed a playtester interacting with a physical model of the game made with paper, ping pong balls, and plastic cups.

Week 2

We incorporated the feedback we received from play testing to set up a very rough draft of Slingshot Squires. I drew and added some sprites for enemies, power-ups, and potential store interaction animations. The purpose of this was to show the mechanics and aesthetic we were hoping to capture in the final version of the game

Week 3

My tasks for this week were:

  1. Draw Title Screen

  2. Create a color palette profile

  3. Create Sound: Purchase sound

  4. Code planting mechanic

Week 4

My tasks for this week were:

  1. Create Interactable Text

  2. Draw Wave Win Screen

  3. Draw Lose Screen

  4. Code enemy movements to make the enemies stop a few units before the crop

  5. Code plant growth

Week 7

This week was mainly spent setting up the game website, creating the game trailer, and fixing bugs and errors identified during playtesting. By the end of this week, Slingshot Squires was ready to play! I redesigned the Wave Win Scene to create a new Game Win Scene that would indicate when you’ve successfully reached the end. Thank you for reading, and enjoy Slingshot Squires!
